Columbia, SC Impact Columbia Wednesday, December 10 – A Day Without a Gay
GLBT folks across the country will "call in gay" to work or school, and will not consume or otherwise contribute to the economy. Instead, we will use the day to work in the community to show everyone how important GLBT people are to this country.

We will be doing volunteer projects with local charities such as food banks and shelters. We will provide volunteers with breakfast, transportation from our base of operations to the various service project locations, lunch, and a free t-shirt if you RSVP by December 1. (More details to follow.) We hope to have matching shirts for everyone that say "Impact Columbia" to help us be visible that day. Money is tight, so we need to get the most accurate count possible. If you can participate, please EMAIL US AT: colaprop8protest@gmail.com and include your t-shirt size and whether you are a vegetarian. PLEASE RSVP by DEC. 1st!!!! if you want a t-shirt. That's Monday.

Of course, straight allies are more than welcome to participate in this day as well. If straight folks don't want to call in gay, you can just call in as a straight ally and explain the service day to your supervisor.

Also, if you're unable to participate in this event, but want to support the cause, please remember to avoid spending money that day, and instead please consider donating a few bucks to help us cover the day's expenses. Email for details if you want to donate.
