Is the asterisk really needed?

Is the asterisk really needed? It just screams that we're self-absorbed and fragile. Do we have to make the distinction like this? Can't we be confident in the fact that we know we're NOT sick?

Here's an update for ya... people in this country are sick and hungry and living in poverty and left on the streets with no help and all you can think about are your own rights. Shame on you.

"Here's an update for ya... people in this country are sick and hungry and living in poverty and left on the streets with no help and all you can think about are your own rights. Shame on you."Easy to say coming from a person who's every right is protected and defended unwaiveringly....if they decided to take any one of your rights away, like oh lets say...your freedom of speech...you'd be all up in arms and making a stand for your rights despite the other problems our country is facing. But you know what? We would be the bigger people and instead of saying 'shame on you' we would be supporting you and fighting to help you keep those rights. Get off the high horse already....as you have already expressed, there are people here in need of help, perhaps your own time would be better spent in doing something to change that instead of coming on here to bitch that we aren't doing enough to suit you.
