You are taking stereotypes and some of the more flamboyant people in the gay community and making it seem as though we Gay people are all "over sexed" or whatever. You couldn't be more wrong. The people that stand out as flamboyant (ie:marching in thongs) are NOT representative of the majority of the GLBT community. We blend in so well, in fact, that you don't even realize that we are around you each and every day.. "normal" looking, paying our taces, raising our kids, gardening, going to movies.. all the things YOU do. If I had a NICKEL for EVERY time a STRAIGHT couple kissed in public ("In my FACE"), held hands, made-out, etc etc etc .... But I don't hear you complaining about that. But when Gays do it, it's in your face. It's not. Why can't we do what everyone else is free to do? Personally, my partner and I do not hang all over each other or make out in public. We hold hands and show a level of affection, but it is in no way anything out of the "hetero" ordinary. We, as most gay folks, are people who have solid values. We simply want equal rights, thats it. Nothing more. Just as other minority groups in this country have fought for their rights in the past.. lest I remind you that Blacks and Whites could not marry in all 50 states until 40 years ago?! The "majority" of US citizens opposed interracial marriage for YEARS, saying it ws immoral and wrong.
